GoalSwitch is a savings goal calculator that works out how many months a savings target takes, the monthly deposit needed to hit a deadline, and the interest the plan builds. It solves the savings-goal equation both ways — for time given a deposit, and for deposit given a deadline — while compounding the balance monthly at the rate you set. Everything below concerns that specific calculation and the values it involves, and nothing beyond it.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from your goal amount, deposit and interest rate, and it is usually opened for things like planning a down payment. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

General information only

goalswitch.com is an informational site. What GoalSwitch produces are estimates of a calculation, not measured facts and not professional guidance.

Reading a financial projection

Unless a page says otherwise, the money tools assume rates stay fixed, contributions never change, and fees and inflation are set aside. None of that holds exactly in the real world. A GoalSwitch figure is an illustration rather than a forecast and should never be the sole basis for a financial decision.

Adverts and sponsorship

The Site is funded by advertising. No advertiser has any say over a result, and no ad should be read as an endorsement.

Provided without warranty

On GoalSwitch the key assumption is that you entered a case the method covers. It solves the savings-goal equation both ways — for time given a deposit, and for deposit given a deadline — while compounding the balance monthly at the rate you set. Within that we choose the method and inputs carefully; outside it, and wherever rounding, unit handling or browser quirks intrude, the Site comes with no warranty.

Checking before you act

You are responsible for checking that a result suits your situation before acting on it. If something looks wrong, tell us through the contact page — we would rather fix it than be right.
