This is the privacy notice for goalswitch.com, operated by GoalSwitch ("we", "us"). It covers the information we deal with and the options open to you. Briefly: your goal amount, deposit and interest rate are computed locally and never leave your machine.

Which tool this covers

GoalSwitch is a savings goal calculator that works out how many months a savings target takes, the monthly deposit needed to hit a deadline, and the interest the plan builds. It solves the savings-goal equation both ways — for time given a deposit, and for deposit given a deadline — while compounding the balance monthly at the rate you set. Everything below concerns that specific calculation and the values it involves, and nothing beyond it.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from your goal amount, deposit and interest rate, and it is usually opened for things like planning a down payment. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

Data you give the tool

Every result here is produced by JavaScript running in your browser. Your inputs are used only to render the answer on the page: they are not transmitted to a server, stored, sold, or shared. The calculation needs nothing beyond what is already on the page — it simply solves the savings-goal equation both ways — for time given a deposit.

Information collected as you browse

Our host and any analytics we run record routine request data — the kind every web server sees, such as IP address, user agent, referrer and which pages were opened. That data serves maintenance and abuse prevention; it is never combined with the values you enter.

Cookies, ads and advertising partners

We set a cookie only to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control personalized advertising in your browser settings or through Google's ad settings. Blocking cookies does not affect the tool: the calculation requires none.

Analytics

Usage statistics, when collected, are anonymous and aggregated. They tell us which pages are useful; they do not identify you and they never include your input to the calculator.

The money figures you type

Amounts, interest rates, balances and income figures are treated as ordinary input. They are used only to produce the answer on screen; they are never logged, transmitted or shared, and closing the tab discards them.

Retention and security

Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.

Children's privacy

These tools are meant for a general audience and are not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly gather personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided some, contact us and we will remove it.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to how it is used. Given how little GoalSwitch collects, the answer will usually be short, but the right stands.

How this policy changes

This policy is reviewed when the site changes. Any material revision is shown by the "last updated" date at the top of the page.
