These terms govern your use of goalswitch.com (the "Site"). By using the Site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the Site.

GoalSwitch is a savings goal calculator that works out how many months a savings target takes, the monthly deposit needed to hit a deadline, and the interest the plan builds. It solves the savings-goal equation both ways — for time given a deposit, and for deposit given a deadline — while compounding the balance monthly at the rate you set. Everything below concerns that specific calculation and the values it involves, and nothing beyond it.

In day-to-day use the tool works only from your goal amount, deposit and interest rate, and it is usually opened for things like planning a down payment. None of that reaches us, so none of it can be stored.

The service we provide

What goalswitch.com offers is a savings goal calculator, free of charge and for general information. Results are estimates generated from your input by the method the page describes. Money results rest on assumptions about rates, contributions and taxes that will not hold precisely, and are illustrations rather than advice.

No duty of care created

Nothing here forms a client, advisory or fiduciary relationship. The Site is a tool, and how you act on its output is a matter for you.

Intellectual property

The design, text and code of the Site belong to us or are licensed to us, except where credited otherwise. You may link to any page. Reproducing substantial parts of the content requires written permission.

Ads and external links

Advertising, served by outside networks, funds the Site, and some pages reference external resources. We do not control that material and are not answerable for it, and no advert influences a result.

Uptime and changes to the service

The Site is provided "as is". We may change, suspend or remove any tool or page at any time and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

So far as the law allows, we accept no liability for indirect or consequential losses, nor for any choice made in reliance on an output from the Site.

Applicable law

The terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the Site operator is established, conflict-of-law rules aside.

Not financial advice

The projections rest on assumptions — steady rates, unchanged contributions, and the ignoring of fees and inflation — that will not hold exactly. They are illustrations rather than advice and should not be the sole basis for a decision.

Errors and completeness

We aim to be correct and to say how the result is produced. That is not a warranty: results may contain mistakes and the material may fall out of date. Treat any figure with a known margin as an estimate.

Acceptable use

Personal and professional use is fine. What is not: disrupting the Site, scraping it hard enough to slow it for others, passing it off as your own, or using it unlawfully.
